“Jamie had such a deep appreciation for every moment of his life. I do believe he developed this because of the atrocities he witnessed in war. His kindness and willingness to help anyone was awe inspiring to say the least. He truly lived a life of laying down one’s life for another. James VanDerveer was an anomaly. We can only hope to continue his legacy of love through Operation Jamie’s Angels and my sister Tonianne (Jamie’s widow) is doing just that with her devotion and love for our United States Veterans.”
